ABOUT MYSELF-

Jen Stennett’s Resume

Jen Stennett began her counseling career while she was still in college when Jen worked in a hospital on the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and in the substance abuse unit in Bloomington/Normal.  She then received her master’s degree in Community Counseling at Eastern Illinois University.  During that time Jen worked in group homes for men with schizophrenia, in women’s shelters, and in hospitals.  After completing her master’s degree Jen Stennett worked in a high school as a teacher’s assistant.  Jen enjoyed working with the adolescents so much that she returned to school to earn her school counseling degree.

Jennifer Stennett has worked in high schools for the last 10 years and is now ready to help adolescents in a more holistic way.  Being with teens five days a week for the last ten years has helped her understand their needs.  Jen Stennett is able to connect quickly with teenagers and form trusting relationships with them.  Jen enjoys using humor and her own past experiences to help teens know that they are not alone. 
Jen wants them to feel that they are valued and important to the world.

Jen Stennett is a daughter, sister, wife and mother of five.  She believes that life is an adventure.  Every corner turned, every door opened creates new relationships and enriches life.  Even in hard times life does get better.
